heart1Working towards the day when every pet has a loving home. Animal Rescue of the Rockies pulls homeless dogs and cats from overcrowded shelters and places them in loving foster homes until their forever homes are found. We promote spaying and neutering to reduce pet overpopulation and encourage quality relationships between pets and their people through behavior resources and training.

Featured Rescues of the Month

I’m Zayde. I am a sweet girl, who loves to go for walks, sunbathe, and curl up in my favorite dog bed. They call me a Pocket Pitbull, because I am pretty small and am only around 45 lbs. I have a very mellow personality, and like to test out every dog bed in the house! Yes, I am awfully cute! I love to go for hikes and walks. I am an active girl outside, and a lazy girl at home. The best of both worlds! I am particular about my dog friends, and do best meeting them off leash in a fenced yard. I get along great with cats. I will do best in a home with little traffic or visitors and older/considerate kids (8+yrs). I was fortunate to be rescued with my 4 puppies from a high kill shelter. I was very undernourished when they brought me into their care, but I am now healthy, spayed, and happy to have a 2nd chance at a forever home. All my pups were adopted, and now it’s my turn to find a perfect forever home! Will it be yours? Since I am a Pitbull, I can’t be adopted in the following banned areas: Denver, Aurora, Castle Rock, Commerce City, Ft Lupton, Lone Tree, or Louisville.

Sable & Glory

Milk and cookies, Batman and Robin, Glory Boo and Sable Boo . . . some pairs are just meant to be together! We are a sweet kitty duo looking for our forever home. We came from a hoarding situation so we are timid until we get to know you. Glory lost her meow along the way so I, Sable, do the talking for us. We are quite lovable and do enjoy our playtime, a bit of catnip or a feather on a string. Tummy rubs are also a necessary part of our daily routine. We need a family who can encourage our confidence and give us time and patience to become comfortable. We will do best in a quieter home without small children or other pets. We promise to bring lots of love, company, and smiles to you!

The rescue thinks we are about 3-4 years old. We are up-to-date on all vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and have tested negative for FIV/FeLV. We are part of the 16 cats of 2016 campaign, meaning our adoption fee is only $25 each ($50 total) because of our shy personalities, and because we need to be adopted together. We have been in foster care with ARR for over two years so we are long overdue in finding our forever home!
